Thank you Dr. Embree for the support and any suggestions on my work. I greatly appreciate the comments, whether it has to be fixing of grammar, sentence fragments, and  the positive vibe I get from you as a professor.

Ladies, these eight weeks of class was wonderful. The support, resources, comments, and great questions to think about not only as a discussion, but in the future as well. I wish you all the best of your endeavors. Congratulations on any accomplishments you made on your way to your goals. I know you all will be successful and amazingly wonderful in what you do. I hope we still all keep in touch and have this blog to keep each other updated with each other on our success. My door is always open to anyone who has questions about anything. I would love to hear from everyone. Until a next class ladies or lets stay in touch. Take care.

Thank you so much for the love and support from my lovely classmates. I wish you all the best and many more.

NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct

"To work with families to provide a safe and smooth transition as children and families move from one program to the next."
Transitioning  children to one class to another class was making sure the child was comfortable as well as the parents. Both parents and children knew who I was because I was the Assistant Director and the preschool teacher. The child would have their cubby and folder set up so they know that they are a part of the class. The rules would be reviewed as a class so he or she would not feel uncomfortable. Ensuring the parents that their child is in good hands and making sure they reach their fullest potential, I kept communicating with them about their child's progress.

"To share information about each child's education and development with families and to help them understand and appreciate the current knowledge base of tthe early childhood profession."

The children in my class has an assessment they would take with me one on one. This is to see where they stand in knowing their alphabits, numbers, colors, and shapes. When I am done with the assessment, I would have parent conferences with the parents in regards to the status of their child. The best part of the conference is that I have the parent's best interest at heart. I get comments like, I do not know how you do this Ms. Maria. I tell them, this is something I love doing and I would love the best for their child. It is a passion I always had with children and I know they will have a bright future.

Code of Ethics

"We shall build relationships with individual children and families while individualizing the curricula and learning environments to facilitate young children's development and learning."
In the daycare I was previously working at, I built a relationship with all the children; getting to know the child as a little grown up. Their personality, likes, dislikes, toys they play with, what kind of talent they have that makes them different from the others, and making sure their needs were met as a student. It is a wonderful feeling knowing a different side of a child. With that being said, having a relationship with the parents is always a plus because sharing news about their child and their accomplishments is something a parent would like to hear instead of negative things about their child. The parents would exchange words of joy about their child's accomplishment and the difference they see in their child. Til this day I still keep in contact with parents and children I use to work with. It is a joy when they have a big smile on their face because they are so happy to see me.  I am currently working at Wal-Mart Super Market and I have a student who insists to come see me before she goes shopping with mom or grandpa. It feels good to hear, Hi Ms. M, I am going to be 6 in two weeks. Knowing that you had her since she was 3 years old in my preschool program because she was too smart for her own good.

"We shall respect, value, promote, and encourage the active participation of ALL families by engaging families in meaningful ways in the assessment and intervention processes."

Open House was a time for all parents to come and see the work of their children. As a team in the daycare, we set up different activities for the parents to participate with each other and the stimulation their child does every day. There would be circle time, block area, science, art and math area set up for the parents. Parents would take a big folder of their child's work home, but actually get hands on activities with their child as well. It is a great feeling to see them interact, laugh and exchange positive words about the activity performed by both parent and child.

Dedication to my mom...

Thank you to all the beautiful teachers who came into my life and letting me see a different side of childcare.... You are a wonderful resource in my future... I would like to share this moment with you all because I know each one of you will make a difference in my life....
Saturday marks the 13th years my mom has passed... If it was not for her motivation and strength she had to keep going, I myself would not be here taking this big step in this Master's program....
